Program Overview

Your CIEE Summer Global Internship program in Barcelona lasts 8 weeks and features two key components: A full-time internship with an international organization (approximately 30-40 hours per week) and an internship seminar. Enhance your experience with co-curricular and extracurricular activities while building career skills, expanding your professional network, and immersing yourself in Spanish culture. Live, learn, and work in Barcelona!

Excursions & Activities

CIEE’s excursions and cultural activities in Barcelona will open doors for you to explore Spain’s rich diversity, language, culture, history, and timeless beauty in ways that will enhance your time abroad.  

Samples of past excursions and activities:
  • Visit some of the most emblematic neighborhoods in Barcelona to immerse yourself in the local culture
  • Go on a business-related visit to learn about production and management in a local Spanish factory
  • Take a day trip and hike in Montserrat, a Benedictine monastery retreat high atop one of the most spectacular mountain ranges in Catalunya
