Program Description:

Arcadia - Edinburgh Napier
Personalized Learning With Links to Industry

If you’re looking for a program with an exciting international approach to study, mixed with personalized learning and links to industry, then Edinburgh Napier University could be the one for you. Its innovative, energetic style enables Arcadia to offer our study abroad students a unique experience in Scotland - lots of inspiring courses at Napier AND an option to take one of three Arcadia offerings: an internship; an Arcadia Cornerstone Course on Cross-Cultural Travel Writing; or Arcadia supervised independent study.

You could work and study both in and outside the classroom, boosting your resume and experiencing Scottish life and culture while earning academic credit and gaining transferable professional skills.

  • Internship Placement options include: Creative and entertainment industries; marketing and business administration; local government; culture and heritage roles in, for example, a Heritage Museum or a private archaeological company; non-governmental organizations and social business. The Field Information Guide outlines more placement details.

  • Travel Writing Cornerstone: This three-credit Cross-Cultural Travel Writing course is taught at the Arcadia Edinburgh Center.

  • Independent Study: Work with an Arcadia faculty supervisor on a three-credit independent research project to produce an original research paper and presentation of your findings.

  • Edinburgh is an international hub - a knowledge-intensive city that drives growth, a world influencer in science, business, education, and the arts with an unbeatable quality of life - and a perfect place to explore the intersection of your professional aspirations and academic preparation.

  • The range of co-curricular activities and excursions organized by the Arcadia Edinburgh Center staff will help deepen your involvement and appreciation of the rich and unique Scottish culture, landscapes, and people. You’ll also have access to all of Napier’s facilities and resources.
