Program Description:

Arcadia in London BannerLet the city be your classroom

INTERNSHIPS AVAILABLE

Arcadia in London is an affordable and innovative way to study in, and get to know, one of the most cosmopolitan and exciting cities in the world. Arcadia faculty use London itself as the classroom, taking you into the streets to bring your studies to life in the communities and places you are learning about. Visits to galleries, theaters, historical sites, local communities and markets give you insights and experiences that augment your classroom learning, giving you genuine insights into this exciting city, its diverse population and traditions and its incredibly rich culture.

You can choose to study within a familiar American university system by taking all your courses at the Arcadia London Center, in the heart of the city, where we offer a range of courses looking at the history, literature, sociology and culture of this fascinating place. Or, you can mix our courses with Arcadia+ options like electives chosen from one of our London partner institutions - giving you exposure to the British academic system and the opportunity to study alongside students from all over the world. If you'd like to add an internship option to your study, check out the London Internship Placement Guide.

Gain an insider’s view of London from our London Center staff and faculty as they help you find your feet with your studies, new friends and London life. Their infectious enthusiasm will inspire even the most hesitant to delve into this welcoming, fun and supportive place to achieve your academic and personal goals.

Arcadia excursions, events and activities will help you get to know many angles of this multi-cultural and historic city and take you beyond the city to explore the rest of the UK and beyond. The program also includes a reading week break mid-semester, allowing the opportunity for extended independent travel.

Arcadia+ Internship: If you are looking to build your resume and professional network, the Arcadia+ Internship option is for you! You'll intern three full days per week with a placement in a wide range of industries - even including Parliament! The additional required internship cornerstone course is designed to complement your work experience and to reinforce your professional and academic interests. The Internship Placement Guide outlines more placement details, including available career fields.

Arcadia+ Partner University Courses: If you wish to supplement your Cornerstone Course with a course(s) at a partner institution your choices include: City, University of LondonGoldsmiths, University of LondonQueen Mary, University of London; and University of Westminster.
